IMHO this (taking your bike on the track) is what it's for, it's where they were developed, it's where they belong and if it's is to be smashed to smithereens somewhere then this is where it should be, it would at least be a fitting end for a bike with HRC bits splashed all over it.
Sat there at the top of the pit lane run next to Stephen on his '18, Bill on his '21, Stephen's buddy (who's name illudes me) on his RC30 etc. is a moment that I will remember for a long time. The rattle of the dry clutches, the air heavy with the smell of 2 stroke, the anticipation of what is about to happen and when it's all over, unlike riding on the road, no nasty aftertaste caused by the knowledge that you've just been a complete dick and played russian roulette with the lives of some people who don't even know there's a game on.
Time to dig an old 400 forum signature out I believe.....
