I will take some pictures tonight. The crown will be irrelevant not as I have to hit it to get the piston out. I did check it before removing it and it had no sign of detonation and looked like new.
The gurgling description was because it sounded like the coolant might be boiling? The temp gauge didn't get above 65°C though and radiator had fluid in it though. Doe one have to bleed the coolant lines somehow after draining it?
