Hope you can help with my query. I recently bought an MC28 sp through Tom in the forum. Tom noticed it had a pgm problem before I bought it and bought a second hand one from a guy on the forum. it was sold as coming off a bike with 10,000km and this has since been verified. We were hoping the mileage would have come down by plugging the new pgm in. However it didn't. So here lies my query... Does the LCD have a built in memory system, so as to stop people simply buying replacement units to reduce mileage etc. Or should we have done something when we plugged it in?
This then makes me wonder how the guys that claim to reduce mileage on the pgm - how this actually works. As fitting a pgm with lower mileage hasn't seemed to work for me. Would they need clocks too?
I did Pm Andy about this through his pgm link, but haven't as yet had a answer. So I'm throwing it open to the forum in the hope you can shed some light on this.. as I'm planning on buying a spare pgm4 and would like to know more about this before I commit to a purchase.
Many thanks
Graham
