Scarborough Gold Cup 2009 John McGuiness narrowly beat us to 4th and if memory serves we were 9th home (2nd Honda) in the MotoGP support race run by the North Gloucester club at Silverstone. Rob Mawbey from Racing Lines Derby has also ridden the bike a couple of times including a win and top place finishes at Darley Moor. The bike has not been run since the end of last year when I tried it myself for a few laps at a track day.
From my notes, the crank has 720 miles, cylinders 410 miles, pistons/rings/little ends/pins 220 miles. I fitted two new standard cylinders when I bought the bike, there is a spare cylinder in the package that is currently being plated at Aptec. The bike is setup for Hiperflo 250 unleaded running VHM heads and inserts with Luyten pipes. We have always run the bike on safe jetting using the data logger and det counter and have had 100% reliability the few times the bike has been used. It is currently fitted with ex Ian Lougher reed splitters which seem to work well with the Luyten pipes. The bike was originally set up for Hiperflo on the dyno at FWD with assistance from Ian Emberton. Suspension was completely overhauled by Maxton prior to the Gold Cup and have very few miles since. The bike has HRC det counter, HRC logger, Battle factory rearsets, Samco hoses, upgraded Brembo calipers, low 1st/2nd gears installed, race pattern shift with quickshifter.
