oil pump setting

nobby62 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 8:21 pm

Hi all, I have a question for the experienced NSR fettlers. Setting the oil pump to the throttle should be a very straight forward process according to the little diagram on here... the problem is that when you read the instructions in the owners manual it becomes a little confusing. In the manual it says that you should synchronise the pump lever to start opening as the throttle barrel starts to move and that the pump lever should just be kissing the stop. But when i set mine like that, the first mark on the pump lever (the one marked on the diagram) goes way beyond the cast pointer at WOT. But the second mark on the pump lever does line up (more or less).... So my question is : am i doing it wrong or is the diagram wrong? surely not.. although the mark shown on the diagram is only about a good third of the full lever travel.... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Rob.
