Well, for all of you waiting for the next episode of my 'oil leak saga' I think/know that I have now found and cured the problem.

Although the oil looked as if it was coming from around the exhaust manifold area, with a process of kitchen roll pieces placed in strategic positions from the oil pump down, I felt that the leak had to be from the oil pump itself.
I removed the pump in desperation and THEN found the oil trail. I removed the two plates, cleaned all the surfaces and rubber seals and 'lightly' coated them with non setting sealant. Re fitted the pump and there has been no seepage (ooh nurse Embarassed ) for the last 3 days.
I have not yet run the motor since doing this, but the leak happened before without it running.

Fingers crossed.

Now about this float level gauge!!! Shocked

Mike
