You would be advised not to dunk it in an ultrasonic cleaner, or even get it wet. They are splash resistant, but that's about it.
If you are to remove it, you should at the very least take a reading from it at full throttle first, as it's crucial it's set correctly, hence the anti-tamper screw. Setting of the T.P.S. is covered in the NSR-WORLD English Service Manual.
Be careful when removing it, as there's a small plastic spacer between shaft and the sensor that is easily lost.
You shouldn't have any problems using carb cleaner with the T.P.S. still fitted. There's no reason to spray the cleaner directly at the sensor anyway!
