Yep, the NSR500 is a true V4. Not an oblique square 4 with 2 "proper" full width cranks counter rotating to balance the rotational forces like a YZR500.
This is an RD500, but it shows the idea of a twin cranked "V4" (it's not a V is it?) clearly.
