The pistons:bore clearance could be too tight. Get the correct ones - it's not worth the risk!

You have to remember that although the pistons slide up and down the bore easily when cold/upon assembly, they are pretty much a "press fit" once the engine is at full operating temperature! (Hence the need for a top quality fully synthetic 2-stroke oil!)

If you have the wrong pistons (i.e. they are too tight a tollerance) then you are asking for trouble.
