Bear in mind that in a pressurised system, water will not boil at 100 degrees C.

(Nor would it freeze at zero if pressurized).


That temp is pretty normal considering you had no airflow through the radiator, so the system was relying on convection into the static air and surrounding bits of bike.

Get the thing moving through the air and you should see the temp drop rapidly.
