It is possible to replace the transistors that power the powervalve servo I believe.

Apparently, this is one of the more common faults with the PGM3, after 20 years of service, and only really happens due to lack of power valve maintenance. But,.. "apparently" is a very vague term.
All I am basing this on is that it says below:..... "Burn of this transistors seem to be many."
Clearly, I got this info from a Google-translated Japanese site:

Is a set of two repair transistors PGM3.
Is manufactured by NEC 2SA1385.

If the RC servo does not work properly,
Burn of this transistors seem to be many.
That the misalignment of the wire or failure of the servo, due to fixation of the RC valve, transistor is burnt is due.

Remove the back cover of the PGM, with cutter silicon
transistors Hojikuri, the failed comes out,
And you're done replace it. It is not a difficult task so much. It is OK if there is a solder flat-blade screwdriver and a utility knife.

Make of that what you will. I have not tried it, and do not know anyone who has. So I am not making any guarantees.
Hope it helps.
