I will be launching some changes to the Classifieds Section of the NSR Forums.
It will be changing from a forum layout to more of a Classifieds layout.
The new classifieds will offer some additional features. This will include categories to better list and find ads. When your ad is sold, you can set the status to sold allowing other users to identify and search on active ads. Attach images to ads.
Ads will no have a default 2 month listing time frame with the ability to extend your ads if you need additional time. Expired ads will not show up in the standard listing (although they can be search). To allow users to ask question/communicate with sellers/buyers, the Classifieds will include a comment section. This will limit chatter in the classifieds section to keep off-topic discussion, but will still allow sellers and buyers to communicate.
There will be three levels of Ads.
Basic Ads - Simple ads with text details only
Picture Ads - Same as Basic Ads, with the ability to attach 10 images
Premium Ads - Picture Ads that will be displayed at the top when viewing the Classifieds section. Premium Ads from all categories will be randomly displayed (5 at a time) on the index page, and Premium ads will be displayed for their specific categories at the top of the index page for the current category being viewed.
Basic and Photo Ads are free to all registered users. Premium Ads have a small charge ($5 USD for Complete Motorcycles, $2 for Parts and Accessories).
I will be locking the current Classifieds section and open the new area later this week. Once the existing Classifieds section is locked, users wont be able to create new or respond to ads in that section. But the posts already there will be available for viewing and searching on (always good to have the archives to research parts/bikes costs, etc.).
As the new area goes live, if you have any comments or input, please feel free to contact me via PM or email (reg@nsr250.net).
As always, the same Classifieds rules will apply (no eΒay links, no off topic/non-classifieds discussion, no business outside of supporting vendors, etc.)
Thanks
