Mc 18 suspension

eldiablo#75 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 11:07 pm

Been racing my mc 18 for 3 seasons now in pretty much bog standard trim, rear shock is standard and untouched apart from f3 plate fitted to rear to gain a little ride height which helped me dramatically to turn the bike in, the front forks remain untouched. i am shredding tyres front and rear when riding at pace and was wondering what upgrades are available to help me with this and my handling issues.
I have tried a cbr600 (2010) rear shock which fitted but not with the f3 plate as it fouled the dog bones,so would lose the ride height that i greatly need. Can anyone recommend me a shock that may work from their experience??
Front end wise im guessing some stronger springs would help me somewhat,i have no idea what weight springs are in as standard but are probably insufficient for a 12.5 stone person, we have researched the vfr internals option which seems not a bad idea and benefits from rebound settings, has anyone been down this route? Or are correctly sprung standard forks sufficient for this bike?

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
