The sad thing there was the lack of knowledge back in the day, and the availability of parts, particularly HRC race parts. A "standard" HRC MC16 TT-F3 is rated at 68hp, with its 28mm carbs and the bolt-on HRC bits... that would still cream most 3XVs and VJ23s today! Also, knowing what we know now, it's dead easy to get an MC16 well over 60hp without HRC bits. 2Smoke's MC16 was (is?) a rapid little bike at our track days!
