Unfortunately on builders labourer wages I couldn't afford it .
Because they were very rare in England at that time people assumed because it looked far superior to anything else they thought it was going to blow everything away on track.
We turned up at 3 sisters in Wigan and was told we couldn't race because it wasn't ellegible. After a bit of persuasion they relented as long as I didn't claim championship points or a trophy. They did agree to sign my licence for top 50 percent finish to gain my national licence.
Needless to say I never went back to that clubs meetings as my own mini protest.
Why would I when I had donington, cadwell,mallory and later on Scarborough to ride at.
I might change to mc18 bits sometime on the perceived track bike.
Wish I had full F3 kit, I'm sure everyone does.
