Do you have a fully built up mc16 Andy with all your F3 bits on, or have you put them away for a rainy day?
We didn't have any tuning work done on the mc16 because I simply couldn't afford to be a guinea pig.
I bought a KR1S for the 90 91 seasons and had loads of work done by terry shepherd of Ormskirk.
It had bronze inserts in the cylinder heads to prevent detonation, increased compression, machined yamaha tz pistons, close ratio gearbox(5th 6th) and run off 50/50 4 star and avgas. I was always one step behind the riders who were supplied the experimental stuff first by tuners such as Graham File,Terry Beckett,Stan Stephens and my own supplier Terry Shepherd.
It was the late Mick Lofthouse who used to tip me off with the latest cheating etc that went on.
Anybody who thinks even club racing is cheap at proddie level is kidding themselves.
My late dad always said that the best put together bike he had ever worked on was the Honda mc16,I agree.
