Les, I always mark my edits in red so a. they are noticed, and b. so they match the site colours! Irrespective of how I make my comments though, someone will always find fault... either too much information, or narked off because I gave no reason! Whatever! If you don't like my moderation, that's not my problem either!
As it is, the edit has been noted, and consequently I expect it's served its purpose. You, and anyone that read the post before, will now be absolutely clear on my position regarding the seller. Frankly, I don't care if others "say" they've had a good experience or not! It wasn't MY experience, despite repeated efforts to rectify the problems (plural!). I personally had an extremely good experience with a vendor in Australia, who then went on to take an awful lot of money off of many disgruntled customers... do you think it would be fair to everyone for me to endorse him, just because of my good experience? My position on this site means I feel I have a certain level of duty to try and ensure readers benefit from my experiences, which means when they (my experiences) differ from someone else's, I should speak out. However, had you recommended a vendor I have no experience with, then I can have no opinion!
The purpose of NSR-WORLD since day one has been to assist readers as effectively as is reasonably possible. Allowing recommendations of a vendor that has previously provided me personally with poor service, even when he knew there was impending national magazine exposure and the opportunity of a deal to advertise/sell in the Marketplace is pretty poor in my book, and I don't want anyone else burnt by basically a stone faced liar! Every opportunity was given, but none was taken. Simple.
So, while you took it to heart that I was standing on your toes, I was in fact both just following my own "normal" editing protocol, and trying explain why! If you'd had to take some of the crap I have over the last 16 years, from total strangers telling you how something they read here has ended up in disaster, or how they've used a vendor who's supplied crap, but won't speak their mind for fear of upsetting them, you too might be a bit sharp sometimes.
It's all very easy when you don't have to try and look after everyone's best interests [as best you can], and can just rattle off what you want, when you want, pretty much without consequence. But from trying to ensure the website, and forum in particular, is written in clear and concise English, to protecting the blissfully ignorant from bad jetting advice, and everything in between, I take the responsibility of being the owner of NSR-WORLD very seriously.
All that said though, your comment/opinion has been noted. It never falls on deaf ears. Feedback, both good and bad, is always taken on board.
