I have recently bought a 1992 RS250 NF5 SPL. It is not a full works bike with the banana arm etc, but a customer specification bike with the SPL engine, ignition, frame, pipes and a few other bits. It has its own parts list / manual that specifies the frame and engine numbers as SPL, but there is little information available about these bikes and I understand that they are quite rare. I have not ridden it yet but have been told that there is a big difference between the standard NF5 and the SPL. I have only started and run the engine and can say that it has a rather fierce BARK. My intention is to restore the bike and obviously ride it when its ready. Does anyone have any information about these (like how many were manufactured and what sort of power they made back in the day)?
Thanks
Deon
