I had the same issue with my MC21. I bought some thin sheet alloy and made up a bracket to go in the bottom of the fairing. I had to drill holes in the fairing but they were broken anyway. I used small screws and washers to attach rather than rivets. You can't see it from the top and it supports the hole thing much better and stronger than the flimsy plastic tabs. My side fairings now come off as one piece as well (it does work) which takes a bit of manouvering but works fine.
