SO I bought this strange 89 model 250, R5K? Or whatever it is you call them in Europe
It had these chambers on it. The left side fit perfect in the same exhaust mounts as any other chamber, not the mount on the silencer though, that mount was hanging a couple of inches lower. No problem though, that happens with after market chambers especially on the 89 or R5K bikes
My real problem is this RHS chamber. it is so weird that I am doubting it is even off an NSR, the previous owner had made his own brackets from bend steel, they weren't very pretty and also the RHS chamber was so low it almost dragged on the ground
The mounts don't line up at all
This one would be sitting right towards the back of the frame, right in the middle of the two rear suspension mounts
This big lump in the middle would hit the bottom of the rear shock just about where my finger is pointing
This next photo might show it a bit better
The pipe goes straight back from the exhaust port, then it curves in towards the middle of the bike, just to swing back out so far back that it would hit the shock on any NSR as far I can see
It is a little flat spot where it is supposed to be closest to the ground, like some chambers have, I am marking it with my fingers, the rust below is where it would have been hitting curbs and ramps and thing like that
few more photos
SO my question to you fellas is; What are these chambers, and what are they supposed to be sitting... Please don't PM me they are Chinese and you will give me 30 USD for them
