I updated my suspension to a full Maxton kit, as the std none adjustable suspension was way past it's best. Personally I went suspension, brakes, engine in my refurbish, although so far the motor has eaten 2 pistons, 1 head, 1 barrel and 1 crank (all genuine Honda bits no pattern stuff) in less than a 1000 miles of ownership !!! anyway that' all sorted now.
Maxton had my bike in over the winter a few years ago. The difference in ride quality is now on a par if not better than my well fettled Aprilia MK2. The VJ22 is always going to be poor in comparison to both std NSR and Aprilia RS, without some sort of mods. Maybe compare an SP spec RGV and certainly a VJ21 or VJ23 might be getting a bit closer to an NSR. Either way any upgrade to the old and tired NSR suspension will be worthwhile. e.g. std high mileaged NSR ~v~ std high mielage RGV
derestricted RGV (ie with the 23d70... Aprilia ignition box) ~v~ delimited NSR
or tuned ~v~ tuned ?
I love all my bikes, NSR, RGV, RS Aprilia, 3XV and RG5 so it's not a BHP war just curious if you have that comparison
