Hello all,
Greeting from Japan! I'm an addict and I can't stop.
I've been building bikes for some time and it only seems to get worse! The more I build the more I want to make another!
So far I've transformed a VTR SP2 into a beautiful monster, complete with original HRC WSB exhaust system and Carbon wheels, etc, etc, etc. That easily won bike of the year on the RC51 forum last year. That done, I've been transforming a VFR750FL owned for 21 years using my old SP2 front end and a few other trick bits, which will also get Dymag CA5 wheels shortly. And I've been collecting parts to make a very tricked out TDR250 that won't look anything like a TDR250 to the uneducated. It looks more like a KTM now..
But you lot don't care about such things here, it's all about NSR's so I won't bore you with those projects. If you want to see I can post some links , but this is just an introduction thread.
The reason I'm introducing myself is because being avid Moto GP fan, I've recently bought an NSR250 MC21 as a project and have been going a little bit nuts...
NC35 front end conversion with Maxton cartridges, Maxton GP10 custom rear shock, MC28 swing arm (Which I intend to have the hub modified / modify the VFR750 rear wheel for - to be able to use the 17 x 5.5 rear wheel from, MC28 seat cowl, seat frame & tank + an NSR500 replica top cowl, courtesy of the ever enthusiastic Paul at Tyga Performance. The PGM-III along with a spare have already been sent to your resident friend here in Greece I've already bought and received all the parts in the catalogue from Tyga and will shortly be ordering Braketech iron front rotors. It'll probably get VTR SP2 front calipers, which are very strong and a Brembo underslung rear along with a CRF rear master cylinder, etc. Paint will be as close as possible to Mick Doohan's NSR500, which I shot a few pics of whilst at Motegi's Moto GP last month.
Anyways, for now I'm just accumulating parts, I haven't done anything to the bike at all, except ridden it about 1km to make sure the engine is OK. The PGM wasn't controlling the RC valve so I just put it away. It's a bit scabby right now, but I don't care about that. I'll start stripping it soon.
I will have some NSR250 MC21 original parts for sale, incl. some bodywork, tank, forks, swinger, brakes, wheels, seats, etc. plus a JHA exhaust if anybody's interested & can ship these parts cheaply from Japan as I run a business supplying performance cars & parts worldwide. Once progress starts in earnest I'll put up another thread. Looking forward to being a part of the NSR crazy community here.
