You'd need to be pretty dedicated to swap fork caps on the MC28, as the SP caps are different again to the SE. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it would be very unlikely.

Nothing's ever going to save you from a "fake" SP except possibly a Honda engine/VIN certification before you buy it. Even then, there's no guarantee it has all the original parts on it.
