At the end of the day, for me, there are too many things against an MC28 to justify owning one over an MC21. I am glad I couldn't afford one in 1994, knowing what I know now. However, knowing what I know now, I can make one go rather well... almost as well as an MC21!
My point was that it's good to see Yuri is so enthusiastic in buying parts before the bike, and so optimistic that he will getting one soon! Not that he was buying HRC parts in a quest to make it perform! An MC28 is a bloody expensive investment these days, in anyone's money.
I was optimistic and enthusiastic about my MC21... I bought it before I'd even got my license. It was sat in the garage waiting for me, and was a bit of a talking point at the test centre that I had an NSR250 and no license! Luckily I got my license in the last days of the [relatively] easy times, before stepped licensing came in, and the costs spiralled. A 3-day intensive course and £150 saw me armed with with the bit of paper that allowed me to ride anything, "2-up", over 125cc/12hp!
