Fork Spring Advice Please

FiveZigen » Fri Mar 20, 2015 5:53 am

Good Morning Gents,

I am about to rebuild the forks on my MC21 SE due to leaking fork seals. I have already purchased some Motul 10wt fork oil and original Honda seals.

I was wondering if I should replace the fork springs as well with something a little stiffer then stock. I did a little research and have found that the OEM fork springs are .85kg. This came from an aftermarket spring companies website and listed it as the correct spring rate for my weight of 185lbs (84KG, 13.2 Stone) without gear.

I will be using the bike 60% for street ridding and 40% for track days. I have been riding for nearly 20 years now and also own an MC18, NC35 and a 1989 FZR 400 as well as this MC21 SE.

Thanks in advance for the advice guys.

Ryan
