Not content with what I'd already done it, I've decided to make a few more mods to the MC21. I'm eventually aiming to finish up with a bike that maybe we could all buy if Honda et al had the guts/sense whatever, to still produce these beauties...
It's almost complete, with the exception of a custom high capacity radiator I am discussing with Pace Products about making, (this will hopefully retain all the standard hoses and thermostat, but have either a twin 18mm core or a triple 12.7mm core, or a combination...), as the F3 rads are like gold dust, and the addition of a CRF450 rear master cylinder, which has the reservoir built into the master cyclinder. Neat!
It's now making 72bhp, and over 62bhp, from about 9800-11000rpm. The RS250 carbs have made a pretty dramatic difference past 10000, and it now seems to have a second powerband there. It still feels like a 250 in my opinion, (i know this has been debated to death ), but just a lot stronger every where. You can rev it hard to maybe 9500 or 10000 and make rapid process or rev the nuts of it to the redline and fly. TYGA have a done a great job with the 300 kits I had it on the Dyno with a friends Graham File Tuned 2000 RS, and the MC21 matched the RS to 10000rpm, and actually made 1 whole horsepower more at 9000! The RS then galloped off to 13200rpm and a healthy 86bhp!
The forks and calpipers are from a 2004 ZX6RR, with discs and HH pads from Braking. I went for a 19x18 master cylinder size rather than the 19x20 and I'm glad i did, as braking is silly! I've left the suspension alone at the mo as I like a firm ride , and have some softer springs to try but at the moment it seems ok.
The yokes are a work of art and were produced on Nigel's recommendation by DB Racing. Although it was a 3 month wait, it was well worth it. The bottom yoke is a very neat triple clamp and the whole assembly has a bronze anodised finish.
Maxim, I've spotted something you really nead to source...
Can you spot it?!
I'm currently working on a full feature on Frank Mitchell's MC21 Fortuna. How about you put together some words on your 21/300 and send them to me on a CD along with a build history and photo's so we can feature it too?
Cheers, _________________ Andy.

it's a mc21 looks more like a factory bike. wish i had the money for a mc21 like that but im a poor student and am stoked at the moment with my 21se. one day though _________________ 94 mc28 SE
The frame has some ingrained dirt and a bit of corrosion on it that needs sorting out so it's not all good... I've try all sorts of detergents and stuff like autosol, so if anyone can recommend anything hardcore that doesn't involve stripping it down I'd be chuffed. And some bolts need changing! _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
