Manifolds and Reed Blocks

Are the manifolds and reed blocks interchangeable between the R4J and MC28 engines? I had to buy a complete MC28 engine to go in my MC18 but still have the MC18 carbs, manifolds, reed blocks etc. Will run PGM II. Any advantages to the later versions? Wondering why Tyga sells stuffers and carbon reeds for the MC21 and 28 but not the 18.

Have you taken the inlet manifolds off of the respective motors yet? You'll soon see why there are no reed stuffers for the MC18. Wink

To make things easy for yourself, just fit the MC18 parts.

I have MC18 manifold and reeds on an MC21 engine, mostly because the ones off the 21 engine had perished, as Andy says stick with all MC18 as I think the stuffers are part of the manifold on an MC18 if I remember correctly so you can't mix and match between reed parts from different engine types. Well, not between MC18 R2J and other engines at least.

Thanks timmyboy.

Any worthwhile performance upgrades to be made with the reedblocks/reeds? track/race bike.
