I am picking up a japan import to uk in the next few weeks that i believe is standard. I have read the details of returning to full power with the wire splice but does this need backing up with carb rejetting.?
We recommend with every mod, no matter how small, that the jetting is always re-assessed. In fact, before you even start fiddling, it would be wise to check the jetting against the stock chart in the Tech section.
There are no standard full-power settings, as no NSR250 ever went to market unrestricted, so please don't ask for any!
I will add though that the ignition isn't the only restriction. You will need to open up the airbox a little too, to help it breath. Don't just hack a huge hole in it though, as that will do more harm than good on an otherwise standard motor. _________________ Andy.
