I may have bodged a power valve shaft by attempting to remove it from the cylinder. I used a pair a of needle nosed pliers and leveraged the shaft out by the nut (I know, I know...). I'm not sure, but I may have slightly bent the shaft. Is it advisable to try and heat the part and bend it back?
Also, What's normal for the manual rotation of the power valve shaft i.e. can they be easily turned by hand? The rear cylinder power valve shaft turns easily but the front does not (the slightly bent one) but will turn with a little resistance with a wrench. I certainly don't want to put everything back together and fry the PGM.
I cannot stress enough that there must be ZERO resistance, other than that created by the seal. Any resistance can lead to PGM (ECU) failure, hence why the RC Valves should be cleaned regularly.
There must be a big pile of old RC Valve shafts lying around out there somewhere. Best put a wanted post in the Classifieds. I am sure someone will have a good one they will sell you.
MC21/MC28 shafts are interchangeable.
Don't forget the nut is left hand thread. _________________ Andy.
