Can anyone help me out. I need to know how the crankcase was split on the NSR500 V4 - 1987 and earlier (the in-line crankshaft version).
I was so hopeful when I finally found this forum but all of the image links are broken ie. no longer active on the original site.
Is the crankcase split horizontally through the front cylinders and main bearings and up to the lower rear of the carburettor inlet casting?
Is the crankcase also split vertically? If so where ie. along the right-hand side so the gears can be removed easily; split on the left side under the overhang of the left most cylinder.
Does it use a cassette style gearbox - removed from the right side?
Is the main gear on the crankshaft off the right side feeding a gear behind the clutch or is the gear train from the main shaft located somewhere else.
