My shift lever on my Tyga steps broke last week due to fatigue.
I contacted Paul and he sent out a new upgraded lever at no charge, and had it in 5 days. You can`t beat that for customer service. Thanks Paul.

The new lever is machined out of solid one piece billet, where the other was a two piece unit. You definately notice a difference in the way the shift lever feels.....much more positive feel with less free play.
I just got a whole box of goodies from Tyga, everything was perfect except for a small crack in the Tyga eyes uppers, but that was undoubtedly due to the package handlers which im trying to get some insurance money out of.
but anyway, anyone know how to patch up a small crack?

i know you can buy fibleglass repair kits that come with the fibre cloth stuff and all the chemical glues n stuff, i bodged a car wing back together with one a few years ago and it dried really hard . recon you can buy them from pretty much any boyracer type shop

as i have never seen the quality of tyga panels this is by no means aimed towards them.....and also i have heard nothing but good stuff about their kits.
i used to sell bodykits for cars when i was in my first job and i found that fibreglass would or should i say have a tendancy to crack and split anywhere where there was alot of vibration, also on occasion you would get air bubbles between the fible cloth and the outer gel coat which when it was heated up in the spray booth after spraying would expand and crack the panels.
this was all of about 14 years ago so i am sure fibreglass panels are far better now but to answer your question i recon plastic panels would cost the earth to make let alone buy, so if ya want anything but standard fibre glass is the way to go _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

The trick with fibre glass is too work clean and imagine that the resin is like gold so use as little as possible, acetone is the only think which will wash the stuff off brushes etc while still wet.
without looking at the crack i can only guess at the best way to fix it.. start off by taping the front of the fairing accross the crack to get it level and in the correct postion then work from the back.
1. cut medium weight chop strand matting to the correct size you are looking for about 4cm band over the crack. if you are working into a corner or a complex shape it is far easier to use tissue.
2. cut a paint brush down so its hairs are about half length a brush about 3/4" is normally most usefull.
3. mix the lapup resin with the hardener. the stuff from the car accesory shop is okay but expesive in large quantities.don't be tempted to use too much hardener as the resin will set with in a few minutes
4. paint the area with the resin and press the matting on to the surface then use the paint brush to stipple (press) extra resin into the surface.
one or two layers of matting should be aduquate.
5. when cured the repair can be cleaned up and any excessive matting can be cut off with an angle gridder. and finnished with wet and dry
the dust is nasty so wear a mask .
