I've just finished rebuilding and reinstalling the carbs from my fairly early MC 18. The shop manual kindly advises not to remove the throttle position sensor, however, in order to properly clean all the gunk off the carb bodies in an ultrasonic cleaner I removed it. I can find no reference in the shop manual on how to adjust the tps. Given the way the actual sensor is fitted to the mounting I can't see there's much/any adjustment available. If they are adjustable, how is done and what readings should show up on a voltmeter or ohmeter?
Pages 20-60 and 20-61 of the service manual give service limits/ranges for the [R2/4J] TPS. Better you read through it all than me cherry-picking certain values and posting them here.
The TPS position has quite an effect on the ignition and RC Valve operation, despite its limited adjustment. _________________ Andy.
