So, avoiding going the easy route on anything, I went and bought what I think is a swingarm from an ND5 RS250 for about $60. The issue? The only things that it came with were the bearings and bushings inside.
I'm planning to use it on my Aprilia RS50, here it is compared to the stock (conventional non-link) swingarm:
Here it is mounted on the RS50 frame, notice the gaps because I had to space the frame by around 2mm on each side to fit the swingarm, the RS50 frame makes it easy since you can separate the halves. (You can also notice another part of this project, mounting an MC16 wheel in GSX-R1000 forks in the background)
For the rear link, I'm using one from a 1st gen Yamaha YZF-R1 (which needs 4mm of bushings on each side to mount to the swingarm.)
For the rear axle and chain tensioners I ordered the parts from an MC15 VTZ250, which I think might be dimensionally identical to the RS250 parts, I kinda have to operate on the rule of "kinda might fit" since there is no parts manual for the ND5 online (quick ebay search found me 2 paper English ND5 manuals for sale in New Zealand and France for $32 and $36 respectively, but with outrageous shipping prices to me in Japan)
Enough with the rambling, here's the question, the ND5 brake caliper is supported using a rod that goes somewhere (highlighted below), but where?
Doesn't look like there is a spot to attach it to on the swingarm itself like the NF5. Is it the footrest or somewhere on the frame?
The alternative would probably be just grabbing a rear brake caliper and support from an MC16 and just letting it rest on top of the swingarm with something securing it from moving back since this swingarm doesn't have the "loop" thing that the MC16 swingarm has
