can anybody help? after my nsr broke (main crankshaft bearings) i used the excellent rebuild guide. however since putting motor back in i can't get it to run. Before putting the motor back i have converted it to running on premix and without an airbox. There is a feint spark and fuel going to the plugs but no ignition. Help!

Hmm, never had one not start on me after a rebuild. Sad

First thing I would do is check the battery is fully charged. Make sure any connections (coils/plug caps etc.) that may have been distrubed are firmly connected and their fittings are clean.

Another one, that may sound silly, but I've done it myself; check the choke cable has been refitted! They can be a bugger to start without choke!! Smile

If all this fails, and you are sure you have a spark and fuel, then there's no reason really why it shouldn't start! Find a slight hill, knock it into second gear, and bump start it! Laughing (Done that before too! Wink)

You could always have the coils tested too, but I reckon it's most likely to be a slightly discharged battery, and NSR's simply love a good battery!

How to test a coil.

step one, remove plug cap

step two, wet finger tip

step three, hold HT lead in hand with wet finger tip 10mm away from lead end

step 4, get freind, brother or sister to kick said NSR over.

If the coils have enough whack in them to make you "clucking bell" their ok.

On a more sensible note, if you have a faint spark i would be looking at the coil pick ups, coil connectors and like Andy said the batt.
