does anyone have one (think maxim has one). how much are they worth and how good are they? i will be using it on a supermotard with a brembo 4pot. will this be to much when i try ride it on the dirt? _________________ 94 mc28 SE
It depends on bore size and ratio.... If the bore is too big the lever will be solid and the brakes will be poor.. They will need a grip that could crush walnuts just to stop !! BUT if the lever is the other extreme it will feel soft and try to throw you over the bars with one finger !!! BUT the fade with the soft lever will be scary!! It is finding a balance.
if its a brembo, is it adjustable? the ratio might be adjustable so you can dial it in! im going to be running with a 17.5mm bore 2 x 4pots and the chap said i could just start at the bottom and dial it out until it felt okay?
What you will need is their single caliper master cylinder. I think these are 16x18 and 16x16 ratios. It's not wise to use the 2 disc set-ups which are 19x20 and 19x18 bore ratios.
I went for the 19x18 as it gives a better feel at the lever, especially with a lighter bike. These are standard size on modern RS250's for instance. The 19x20 would have given to little lever travel for the same braking force.
A similar principal exists for the single caliper set-ups. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
yep, Maxim's got it right - for a single disk set-up you'd want a 16 x 18 (http://www.yoyodyneti.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=10.4760.80) - you'd need a brake switch too if for the street. I too have a 19 x 18 Brembo radial on the NSR and in addition to poser points, it is very sweet - really good feel and a tad more power. In fact I put these on all my bikes (all 2 of them that is). _________________ -Jim

It must be a PR 16 for only one caliper
I had one in my CR 500 and it's a very good part
the brake feeling is incredible and the lever setting is milimetric
the large lever is strange at the beginning but it's too nice
be carefull, if you have to fall, choose the other side, the lever is expensive _________________ watch my www
You can start wityh a NSR master but its a bit stiff and woodern, also graby get ready for fore arm pump, i use one for a while, did the job.
I use a 13mm brembo off a Ducati with a Gp mono block caliper , works fine, but it can get a bit weak on realy tight stop start tracks, constant fluid changes. came from QTM Brembo in states for 80 odd dollars plus postage!! and its what a lot of AMA riders use.
For the real deal get the made for the job 16x16 master from Brembo, perfect but when i was shopping for them for a mate I could only find one all others on back order!!
the 16x18 is what most go for cause its cheaper, does the job _________________ Farting is funny
