mirrors are a legal requirement, the bike will fail an mot with even a cracked mirror !
I think the police ( if being nasty ) could fine you for it,and give you a slip to get it fitted within 28 days by providing a stamped form, from an mot station.

it will also fail if one indicator doesnt work, but it wont fail if they are not there. _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

Im afraid Monkey is right, I have a front light, a rear light and a brake light a horn and thats it, as long as the others arnt there they cant be tested so wont fail!!(asumming its all working) any less and your verging on Daylight MOT stuff which can get tricky from place to place as even my Chap has a diffrent idea of whats required....
Mirrors are definately not legal requirement, i.e. bikes that come without them (CR250?) are legal, but removing them may not be so clearcut.
It just depends on what the tester says appears to be there.
In theory if you run ANY lights, any switchgear for lights or any light circuitry wiring you've got to run full lights (including the numberplate light and a reflector which are mising from the Tyga setup anyway).
In reality ignorance rules and if something is totally missing it won't be failed, even police bike cops get the laws round there neck, monkey got told he should have BS kite marked cans the other day _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

Tis true, then I told him it was an import and BS cans dont exist and all the baffeling is in the expansion chambers.......he just lookes at me as if to say "ex-pan-sion-what" then said "well I am not to worried about that" then proceded to tell me how I should have protective trousers and boots and how stupid it was wearing a summer jacket and gloves, bearing in mind this was the first time the NSR had been out and the tyres were less than 2 miles old so I was hardly gonna rag it all over the place. He then nearly dropped his masive BMW doing a 3 point turn on the massively Roman cambered street he has stopped me on.....dickhead bike cop _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

Although it's official babble, it (appears to me) clearly say that the can(s) and/or system should be clearly stamped "BS AU 193" or "NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE" or "PRE 1985 M/C ONLY", unless it is stamped with an "equivallent" certification from EEA member state; which doesn't include Japan or the USA as far as I'm aware!
