A shifter cart is like a pro go-kart that uses (usually) a one cylinder 2-stroke engine like from a CR125. _________________ james

I have seen some carts with Honda RS125 engines in them. I get some guys Emailing me to help them find nice engines for sale. I have never seen a 250 in a cart before. The 125 engines make enough power and are smaller and lighter than the V-twin NSR250 engines. Cart racing is fun! My neighbor does it and has brought me along a few times, those are some sickly fast little machines that will leave you with a big smile (and some people with poop in their pants)
Well it sounds like a flat bed cart used to shift stuff about.... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Shifter carts have 4 wheels, and more horses. Not bad for your first try though. _________________ james

Wayne Rainey and Eddie Lawson raced shifter karts at Moto GP last year(superkarts). They were powered by TZ250 motors. At least there were some two strokes If you closed your eyes it was just like the 250 were racing. _________________

250cc Super karts have been around for years.. my oldest brother used to race one in the late 70's and early 80's. Now they are using engines with loads more power than the Yamaha TZ250. I know of a couple which have been dynoed as 105 BHP !! Here is one which is 90 bHP straight out of the crate !! http://www.brceng.com/pdfs/BRC250FE_Tech_Data_Sept05.pdf
But the engines are very expensive. ZIP sell one make at £14,500 each !!
By the way they are KARTS not Go Karts or carts... The drivers get upset if you call them go karts because that is what kids build with bits od wood and old pram wheels.
Bit like calling a big ship a boat huh? Some people are just tto sensitive! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Kart/cart - When you talk to the drivers do you spell out the name?
