That exhaust arrangement looks too messy and the engine a bit wide. And there'll be loads of room above the motor too as it looks like an old slab side gsxr frame. _________________ If you dont like the way that i ride.....Stop trying to keep up!!!!!
Anyone ever remember seeing that piggyback NSR500 that some crazy Jap built about 10 years ago? The top engine cylinder was poking out the top of the tank.
I like the randomness of the pipes - one of them is very close to the back tyre though.
I don't like the frame though.... I'd rather see it in an NSR250 frame if it could be fitted. I imagine it would be hard to get the rear cyl pipes to clear the engine and fit under the bodywork!
I remember that Matt - it was in MCN. I seem to recall it had a rather scary chain drive between the two gearboxes that along the inside leg!!
I kept the issue for a long time, and know I would never have thrown it out, but I've no idea where it is now. I remember it looked much better than this version; more like a standard '28. _________________ Andy.

How does a bike with two engines joined by a chain drive (with one cyl sticking out of the top of the tank!) look good????
But seriously - why can't the Alan Millyard approach be applied to the NSR250... add one or two cylinders to the engine by making a new set of crankcase out of two. A three cylinder version wouldnt be two wide - there's 'just' be the small matter of fabricating the new crankcases and crank(!), then remaking the frame mounts to fit the thing in the NSR frame.
I wish the NS engine was as good as the NSR250.... as I've got an RGV with an NS400 engine - with a 500 conversion it goes up to about 75bhp! There are no powervalves, no crankcase reeds, crappy transfers etc etc.
So I am seriously considering adapting the NS engine to fit different barrels along the 'Ralf Kras' lines.... Then much more modern barrels could be fitted, with crankcase reeds, and much higher horsepower.

From the outside, to the casual onlooker, the bike looked pretty standard except the 4 silencers!
The fuel tank was a "dummy" cover that hid the top half of the second motor, and everything else was tucked inside stock fairings, so from a distance of anything more than a couple of metres nothing looked out of place.
Maybe Jim from Classic Bike Magazine could perform some kind of search through the EMAP/MCN archives one day, if that's possible, and find the artical. I'd certainly buy a re-print of it. _________________ Andy.
