Hey all,
I have searched through out the forum looking on how to tighten the chain on a MC28 and can't find it anywhere. I'm sure it's not too hard, I thought it might be in the workshop, looked there no luck. Can anyone explain step by step or have a drawing that might show how it's done? Thanks
Undo the nut right at the back of the pro-arm, either use a c-spanner or tap with a screwdriver the castleated nut between the swingarm round to move the wheel in the swingarm, do the swingarm nut up tight again.
That's it, easy! _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

StephenRC45 posted recently on how the adjustment can become difficult if the components aren't kept clean. I think his post also includes some maintenance tips, so maybe try a search for it. _________________ Andy.

I can't find and don't remember any hints and tips but finding Steve's "mc28 chain adjustment" answer is easy, just put exactly that and "stephenrc45" into a search and you get 2 pages of results including this.

Anyway, I'm in a bad mood now, I just jetted the '28 again a couple of sizes richer and it's bloody 'orrible.
Should have really chopped it again on it's current jetting as I now know the compression was too high but I was scared.
On the plus side, the RS fairing drops down in seconds (two screws), the tank comes off without removing the tail (or seat) and as I've removed the silly bit of plastic that supposedly ducts air the carbs are no problem either so it's not that painful an experience.
Just need to ditch the airbox now, eh??

Better, much better, down one size, reeds in properly (seehere for my error and stupidity) and airbox in the shed.
Happier now, NSR runs fine, RVF fuel tap is fixed, I have pizza in the oven and beer in the fridge, all is well. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
