my god My MC21 has an MC18 front end !!!!!!!!!!!

Thu Dec 21, 2006 11:15 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

while i was messing around with the parts manual i notice that my MC21 has an mc18 front end. i recognized the top york from parts manual that is an mc18 .
is there a case that they only changed the top york and not the complete front end?

How can i say that the forks are mc21 or mc18? in case of this is true is there and problem with the geometry of the bike, with this transplant?

MC-21 and MC-18 forks look the same. I put MC-21SE forks on my MC18. I don't beleve that you can change the geometry by changing NSR fork legs between the diffrent models. If it had CBR 1000 forks then I would be worried.

I am pretty sure the steering stops are in a different place on the 18 and the 21, they are located at the front of the yoke on the 18 and at the back on the 21/28. (maybe the other way round!)

If you have a 18 bottom yoke then I think the steering stops must have been modified.

Yes i notice that the steering stop is defferent as well. that was my first suspicious thought when the steering hit the fairing.

the bike is also fited with an mc18 wiring i am about to install the mc21 wiring except from the rectifier and the oil sensor is the keylock the same as mc21? cause it has an mc18 keylock. my god this bike is 2 in 1

is an mc21 can see that from the swingarm rear frame, GPS TPS, and papers. it seems that this bike had a crash plus they had burned pgm and they replace the hole wiring and installed a pgmII GPS is not connected as i saw. either side stand sensor.

it seems they payed more that just finding a pgm3 the bike has deffernt fairing stay clocks as well. man i tell you is a mess. all this came up when i was trying to install the new fairing and the fairing stay dint want to match with the nose. then i checked the manual and it was defferent. as for the PGM the try the cheap way but at the end they had to change rectifire and clocks as well.

i am trying to bring it up as it was before.

i would imagine it would match and you could change it very easily, but the bottom yoke would be the one I would want to change so that the steering stops work correctly, the top one is probably just cosmetically different, whereas the bottom yoke is functionaly different.
