Hi all this is my first time on the forum can anybody give my an approx MPG of a MC21 with all the trick bits done to it as in - pipes - wire splice - airbox & jeting + full Tyga body work
Lol. Not sure the aftermarket bodywork would make much difference .
Fuel consumption of a stroker 250 depends to an extent on how you ride it, jetting etc. but I'd be surprised if you got much more than 30 - 35 mpg as an average. If you always ride it 'properly' then you'd prob be in the low 20s And with an NSR it's the oil consumption you wanna worry about in any case. They've quite a thirst for the fully synth'

If anyone actually answers this question sensibly then I'm afraid I will have to forfeit my NSR-World membership immediately.
What I will say though is that an NSR that properly prepared, and properly ridden will give something in the region of 6.5~7.5km per litre, or 18~21 MPG.
Why would you buy an NSR and then worry about fuel economy?
Hey trickricky, don't be chased away from this forum by the silly answers that the members give you to questions such as yours. This forum is without doubt the biggest archive of NSR information that you could ever find, but it's just that the people on here are all rather hardcore when it comes to their NSR's.
Oh, and don't forget to give 'em plenty of stick back if they give you a hard time
eeeeehhh, I normally bring 30 liter of gas for a trackday _________________ Poul

If you worry about fuel economy you bought the wrong bike, when ridden hard they're around 3 to 4 times more expensive to run (oil inc) than a 400 diesel and that's before you cost in a front barrel or two
I did Rockingham National on my first RVF400 which was at the time totally standard on less than a tankfull (the tank is smaller than an NSR too)... It didn't even get onto reserve. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

I'm commuting on mine and getting 120 miles a 16litre tank and i'ts running like a bitch!
see you later Matt
My 18's that have 4 1inc holes in the airbox and the wire splice done but otherwise stock do 60 miles tops to a tank full but 18's use twice the amount of fuel that 21's do with the same mods so that's not much help to you is it
Anyway welcome to the site mate. _________________ Harley Davidson is the worlds most efficient way to turn petrol into noise without the harmful side effect of horsepower.
120 miles on a tank You must work for the ministry of the environment or something
You need to turn up the volume
I guess that if you're commuting on the NSR then you would get reasonable economy.
Years ago, when I first met Paul, he was riding an MC21 (standard) to work and back in Bangkok. He sold that and bought an MC28 (standard) and commuted on that. He loved it right up until the point we took my 75hp 28 off the dyno and put his on at a miserable 38hp He left the bike at the workshop and got a taxi home. Next time he rode it, it was kicking out 65hp without an HRC card and he's not had a standard NSR since that day, and any concerns he had with fuel economy went into the trash, along with his standard pipes.
mpg is not the most talked about subject between 2-T addicts
We live in denial about the total cost of running (and modifying) a fast 2 stroke. _________________ Poul
