Well, 18 months after buying a damaged MC21, I have finally completed my Tohru Ukawa replica project. The main reason it took so long was that the first thing I had to buy was a house with a garage
Spec includes:
Tyga 250 GP bodywork (street).
Tyga stainless exhausts.
Tyga meter stay.
NK racing one off carbon end cans.
RVF400 USD forks & yokes.
Ducati 999R Brembo 4 pot 4 pad calipers.
NK racing caliper brackets.
ZX10R clutch lever bracket.
ZX10R front brake master cylinder.
CRG folding adjustable levers.
HEL brake lines.
WR's rearsets.
HRC rear brake reservoir.
Paint by Darren at Rutland Airbrushing. (All logos airbrushed).
Renthal grips.
The engine is standard except for an M-Max box and modded airbox. It was set up on the dyno by Chris at Road & Track Dyno and is putting out 62.2bhp.
Future mods are to fit an underslung Brembo rear caliper, adjustable rear shock (Ohlins or SE/SP), dry clutch, and a digital dash.
I don't want this to turn into an emotional Oscars speech, but I would like to thank Mark at M&M Motorcycles for his advice & help throught this project. His half hour of training with Mick Doohan's suspension guru has transformed the NSR .
Here are some pics, hope you like it. (The first one is a "before shot"):
Hi James, thanks for your comments. The levers are made by CRG. I had to fit the ZX10R master cylinder and clutch lever bracket to fit the levers. CRG only make levers for modern superbikes, (GRXR's, Blades, R1's etc). The Kawasaki bits bolt straight onto the RVF clipons. The threads for the banjo bolts differ between the master cylinder and the calipers. The levers were pretty expensive, but I saw them on a ZX10R racebike at the NEC and had to have them . _________________ Warning:

flat gorgeous! Are those 4-pad Brembo calipers I see? If so, what sort of adaptor did you use and more important, how's the braking? Really nice work. _________________ -Jim

Hi Jim, Those are indeed 4 pad Brembos . The brackets are one offs made by Nigel Kimber (NK Racing). He also made the end cans and did the stem swap. I wanted the calipers positioned so that at a glance they look like radials. I then had the brackets anodised black so they looked more like part of the forks than part of the calipers. I have a matching rear caliper which I want to fit "underslung".
The brakes are if anything too powerful. There is plenty of feedback from them, but with such a light bike, a gentle squeeze with 2 fingers will get the back wheel in the air. I'm just waiting for the day when a pheasant runs out in front of me and I grab a panic handfull . _________________ Warning:
