Hi
I was told Tunder 125 has upgrad kit (Athena)for 180cc cylinder, 2 of that is 360cc, so that put them on NSR engine, someone konw that? _________________ 1996 HONDA RS250

The NSR125 uses a 16mm piston pin, so the piston for this kit won't fit the NSR250 crank. And I reckon I've hunted through every piston manufacturer's catalogue looking for one that will fit....Nada.
Lots of work required to get this to work.
Far from impossible as a one off, but would cost a fortune if you built a kit. Trust me, I've looked into just about every NSR125 big bore option with a view to putting it on the NSR250.
Cost is the only limiting factor. Oh, and my time of course
Why don't you just get the barrel/piston kits, and a couple of 125 cranks or con-rod kits, and press apart a 250 crank, and measure everything up, and build it?
Sounds easy when you say it fast Vin!
Then you have powervalve cables, coolant pipes, head outlets that are bound to be in the wrong place, exhausts to build, etc., etc., etc.!!
TYGA already makes a high quality bolt-on kit... time for someone else to do the R&D maybe? _________________ Andy.

I agree entirely, Im doing exactly the same thing on an RGV with TS200 cylidners and the motivation keeps ebbing away... _________________ NSRless again...
The 190 Athena kit doesn't have powervalves but both options are a pain, plus you have got to remember that you won't actually get 340cc or 380cc with the stroke you have in the nsr. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
I tried to blag a pair of cylinders off of each "big bore" manufacturer, with the view to seeing what would be involved in making the super tanker NSR.
Basically, no one wanted to give stuff away, or even offer any sort of sensible discount, and this would have started costs for the kit at around $1000 before I had even so much as offered the barrel up to the cases, and I can be 100% sure that (just like the NSR150SP) it ain't gonna fit without hacking away!
Then, for the massive pistons we'd need to change the rods (as Vince says), so there's more cost. Then we'd probably have to supply the complete crank, blah, blah, blah. We're already up around the $2000 mark. Ouch!
