I HAVE AN MC18 WITH AN 18 INCH STANDARD REAR WHEEL FITTED I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A NEW SHOCK FOR IT BUT IT'S NOT OFF THE SAME MODEL,IT'S OFF AN
NSR250R SP OR SE BIKE THE SELLER SAID IT WOULD FIT AN MC21 GULL ARM.
MY SHOCK IS 290MM IN LENGTH FROM THE CENTER OF THE TOP EYE TO THE CENTER OF THE BOTTOM EYE THE SP/SE SHOCK IS 300MM LONG SO NOW IT DOES'NT FIT MY MC18 IT SEEMS THAT THE LINKAGE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED BUT I DON'T KNOW WICH PART CAN I USE A GULL ARM LINKAGE ALSO WHAT PART IF SO DO I NEED, THE TRIANGLE BRACKET OR THE TIE ROD OR BOTH.
CAN I MAKE IT FIT?[/img]
First off, would you mind NOT posting in capital letters. In open forums such as this, it is considred as "shouting" - a way to get a point across to others.
Back to your problem. I am afraid there is little or even no chance of getting the MC21/28 shock to fit the MC18. The frame mounts are just far to different. Your best option is to try and locate an MC18SP shock and use that instead. You may find a 1989 RS250 shock may also fit, but they are rarer than hens teeth, and you would still need to measure it, just to be sure. (The MC18 shock is the only one that will be a definite "bolt-on" job.)
just in the process of offering up a gull so i will let you know _________________ "cant you see the no smoking sign, this is a public space" rrrrrrriiiiinnnnngggggg ddddddiiiiinnnnnnggggggg 2 stroke till i die
