rs250 barrel on nsr

does anybody know what nsr250 model will take a pre 1993 rs250 barrel?

Hello Frogger, and welcome!

All the NSR's will take an RS barrel, but it's not as simple as just bolting it on.

You would be better off with a well tuned NSR barrel in most cases.

so a 93 rs barrel will definately fit a mc21 or mc28?

obviously machining and planning is required to sort it out. the main thing is that the studs line up with the barrel.

You want 88~92 RS barrels and heads.

You will also need an HRC NSR crank or special HRC bearings to run the RS pistons.

Best thing you can do is buy an RS motor and tear it down. It will tell you a lot.

Thats a F3 set of crank cases with F3 crank, A kit piston and mod'ed RS barrels and heads.

I'll give you a tip Frogger...

Order an NSR, an NF5, and an NX5/NXA base gasket! That will only cost you £15, then you can compare the stud patterns etc.

It's not perfect, but it is cheap, easy, and quick, and will get you started!! Smile
