Hello,
I want to put some new tyres on my R9N for street use (since here in Greece we have two tracks and they are far away). I want thyem to have a nice grip since the roads are AWFULL and most of all to be in the original size. 110/70 150/60. Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance
Andreas
Dunlop GPR70's are always a favorite. they tend to heat up quickly and grip well, but when overheated do slide - though it's predictable and fun on the track when they do.
On the road you may be better off with the GPR80, as they are likely to last longer in your climate. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Gprs are ok but you have to remember that they are a trye designed in the 1990's and realy there are a lot better these days, I have used gprs on road and track there good but the michelins for instance are miles ahead. Think if your only going to use the bike for fun at the weekends get the stickey rubber, michelin cup or dunlop 208's.
I havent tried them yet but have ordered a set for my super mote are the pirreli diablo's I have only heard nothing but good things about these and if your mad enough they also do a corsa version for the track, These days small tyres are all about the same money, do you want to do 4000 miles? or 2500? I suppose its all down to your supplier and what they acn get hold of, but i would try others before going to the dunlop gp's
Luke, he said original sizes, and I'm not sure you can get the later rubber in those sizes. As far as I know, you have to go to 120 / 160 widths on the modern stuff. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

personally I am a fan of Bridgestone tyres for this size of bike. I have purchsed a pair of the latest BT090s in 110 & 150 sizes. This is a modern compound designed for 250's and 400supersports. They are also H rated which means they are cheaper and lighter than their 120 & 160 counterparts.
we have the new 090s on the missus rgv in 110/150 great tyres i reckon suberb in the wet to
when the nsr is finished i am going to fit a pair of dunlop 207 gps because a friend has given me a nearly new set that he no longer requires from his sons race bike(aprillia rs 125)
When i was looking for tyres not long ago for my 300 I realised that you could infact get 95% of all the new tyres in the stock sizes, this includes the pirrelis including corse fittment plus 208, 207, 207rr, bridgstones etc etc infact the only one that you cannot get in the 110,60,17 size was the michelin sport cup super track version. This was in 120 only but 150 rear no probs I know because i have that fitted as choice on my 300.
These things are such a personnal buy its hard to say ones better than the other realy because we all ride differently and certain brands do have a pyhscological effect on how we feel, for insatnce i bet not many people would use the Thomohawk remoulds for track use because they are a small brand and remoulds but in fact an excellent tyre. Hard call, I say go with what your happy with and dont worry to much modern tryes are all very good for 95% of us.
Thanks Luke, no one ever lists tyres in our sizes anymore, so you end up thinking they're not made! _________________ MC21SP Plaything
