ive just rung k tech about doing the rvf forks to suit my nsr and fella says they wouldnt want to try it because of the spring rate diference and says never done to suit nsr before now im quite annoyed because they clearly have done before the fortuna bike on here for example _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
Yeah I know as they were going to do my zx6 forks...
Try Reactive Suspension, spoken to the guy there in depth too and although slightly dearer than K-Tech probably a more personal service. _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
cheers fellas i might try my original choice of road and race suspension they quoted with nitrate coating forks gold and set up etc for £210 plus vat which i think is a good price but will give the others a ring as well as forks need doing and the bikes still in pieces _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
Indeed, K-Tech are not big fans of fitting wrong bits to bikes, they won't uprate the spring on an RS250 (Aprilia) shock to fit the to RVF400 either (a popular "upgrade" amongst 400 owners) nor would they put a heavier spring on my NSR rear shock.
Now I'm no suspension guru so when the guys who do (at least) 1/2 the bikes on the BSB grid tell me something, I listen. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

Piss-poor if you ask me! HRC provide three additional springs for the MC21 and two MC28 (although they are a pain to source now, especially the MC21 numbers), so no reason why they can't at least fit a new spring to a shock designed for a 40~65kg Asian rider instead of a 70~100kg Western one!
There may be a competitively priced fully-adjustable shock for the MC21 and MC28 on the market soon anyway though, so people like K-Tech can stick their snobby attitudes and carry on servicing the Lemming-mobiles! _________________ Andy.

well thats what i thought andy i saw no reason why they couldnt help me out as a paying custumer and to say that they had not done a conversion was a lie but i will take my money to another company as im onto the phone in the morning to get the forks sorted _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
They tried to price themselves out of a job for me a few years ago when "Billy Monkey's" shock went astray and I felt the need to replace it, but I told them to go ahead much to their dismay! That's the last NSR job I heard of them doing.
I can't personally see the problem, other than they can't look NSR settings up in the book all the common 600's and 1000's are in!! An NSR shock is almost identical to some of the CBR600 shocks, and they will happily touch them up!
As for front suspension, I can't see their logic at all there, other than maybe they just don't want the work. Your money obviously isn't good enough for them! _________________ Andy.

its a wierd one mate he tried to fox me with spring rates but that didnt work so he told me to ring maxton i couldnt believe my ears but i will get the forks sorted today if it kills me.then when swingarm sorted she will be rolling again and then i can try and sort the ramair box _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
ive just got off the phone to reactive suspension and they couldnt have been more helpful and said they could do what i wanted no problem so going to take forks to them and price was £240 for revalve etc and £125 to powder coat black and asked how much nitrate coating was and its £195 but unfortunatly i cant afford to have that done but i think good price to get forks sorted _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
If the exterior of the forks are in OK condition, I'd rather have them nitrided for the extra £70! You know it makes sense! _________________ Andy.
