MCN Road Test - MC28 vs TZR vs RS250 (aprillia)

Thu Jun 26, 2008 2:34 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Did anyone see the road test in this weeks MCN? Overall, a decent centre spread feature for the 250 2Ts.
Pity MCN could not get the MC28 model right, SE rather than SP. Also a pity they didn't have a fully derestricted MC21 to run against the full power Aprillia. Interesting to see MCN's stated price for the MC28 in 1997 was £5500.

Oh, and they specified www.nsr250.net as the further info source for the Honda Cool

I just got the rag and that's my old MC28!!! Lol, haven't seen it for years! That's the one I imported brand new in 1998 for £4395.00, so feck knows where they got that price.

ha ha that's such a shock seeing it! It even has the Honda tank pad still on it from when I sold it. I know that the guy I sold it to barely rode it in 10 years and it's now in amazing condition, so if you're looking for one I know the history from new... Twisted Evil Laughing

I went to look at the featured MC28 last week,I was told the bike was deristricted with HRC 030 card.I am not sure which card MCN used for the test.

I would've thought you'd have been looking for a nice MC21 and 3MA, rather than another MC28?! Laughing

Yeah, better to throw one of those MC28's down the track than a lovely MC21! Wink

Still and all, nothing like a revival of something good in the mainstream comics,at least now the diesels know what's gone past them Smile

Well, '28's are the only ones you'll ever actually see on the track so why not?

If they ran the '28 setup decently with the 030 card there are a hp so so (if anything, my '28 made 2 bhp more than Paul G's '21) in it between any of them (presuming the TZR was derestricted too), if not then the Aprilia will have will have just romped off into the distance.

Just read it, no terrible errors there from an NSR point of view, unlike the TZR....
