First advice, you need a good fitting screwdriver for the power jet cover screw. If its not, you risk damaging the screw head. The cover screw could be in there really tight, give the screwdriver a tap to relieve some of the tension in the thread. I found a second pair of hands useful at this stage to hold the carbs so I could apply sufficient pressure to the screwdriver myself.
With this removed you need another good fitting screwdriver for the power jet itself, which could also be in there tightly. If your in any doubt, stop, and source the right tools. Other than that, its not at all complicated. _________________ Rich

I found out how tight the Power Jets are in there........I got out the real screwdriver after that!
What do you do with the hoses to the solonoids an stuff??
I notice that one of the solonoids has a plug on it! What do you do with that??? Or do you just rip that out??? I'm good at that!!!
SOOOOOOOO I put the power jet blank in......After having to drill one out cause I ****** it with the screw driver!!!!
The base settings are all for open carbs so I thought WHAT THE HELL....I'LL GIVE THAT A GO!!!!
I got smoked down the street by a kid on a scooter, It's that slow!!!
So This is what I have!
MC21 NSR250 running on pre-mix.
Standard pipes and chambers ( Untill my JHA ones show up!!! )
Wire splice.
What I would like to run is the little trumpet bits that go into the standard airbox with some stocking over them (PRETTY MUCH OPEN CARBS) Can some one give me a ball park figure of MJ size cause the kit I got goes down to a 180 and that (SEEMS) to be too big!
The bike runs really flat like it is getting way to much gas!!!
I'm racing this coming saturday and a now have a big bald spot on the left side of my head where I pulled my hair out and I think a may have got one of those stress veins in the forehead as well!!!!........Not a relaxing weekend!!!!
It's only a recent thing. The Members pages of the Main Site currently have nothing to do with Forum Subscription, as stuff like the Workshop Manual is still far from completion. _________________ Andy.

Back on the subject of getting rid of power jets.... without talk of Jet sizes !
Sometime back I had a mc18 racer to work on.. It had no air solenoid or Y adapter or tubes
on the carbs. other than the gas line !..
Am I right in thinking with blocked power jets I can remove all the tubes and solenoid etc etc and just block of the hook up ports for them on the carbs ?..
