A very rare, and after-market item only. You would probably be better off going for a smaller rear sprocket.

It's also easy to damage the crankcase running a 16T front.

Sprocket specialists here in the US has just about everything and if they don't they can make it. Andy is right though things get really tight with a 16 but I've been running one for some time now with no problems.

Erm, 1/15th on top end (presuming your bike will pull it)?
It can't alter acceleration that much once you're going unless it gives (or takes) gears from you in vital places.

A bit more than 2 teeth off the rear, a bit less than 3.

Try B&C Express in Lincoln

http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/

It's worth ringing them though, as they can get hold of stuff thats not on the web site. They can also machine sprockets to order. They made me a selection for racing, and they were very reasonably priced.

They are very friendly and helpful as well.

cheers but think it may struggle to pull a 38 to the red line, lol.

so are the mc21 and 18 sprockets the same fitment or am i gonna have to get one made up? suppose it's a good excuse to go for a gold alloy.

No, I think only a gold 38T Talon, but I can do 40T Renthals (for MC21 and MC18) if you like?

The Renthals are about £35 and some sizes are available in different colours. Colours can take up to 10 days though, as they are made to order -- silver is usually a couple of days.

"Can't get" as in "HRC have no stock" or as in "don't know what to order"? The 16t rear was certainly a listed and obtainable NSR250 HRC part last year, I got one Wink

But a little birdie tells me an NS400 sprocket just needs machining down as it's too wide though a nice ally rear would be cheaper, more effective (and prettier) than aquiring and machining a NS400 front or paying whatever eye watering extortion HRC feel like charging for the NSR part.
